Carl Jenkinson Arsenal was born Carl Daniel Jenkinson on the 8th of February 1992 in Harlow, Essex, England. He was born to his English father and to his Finland-Swedish mother. He grew up with his older brother - Marc Jenkinson in Buckhurst Hill.

He made 3 appearances and led the team in the 1–0 defeat by Ukraine. He also played for the Finland under-21 team on 3 June 2011 in a 2013 European Championship qualifying match with Malta.

Charlton Athletic

Jenkinson signed his first professional contract in 2010 and was named in a Charlton squad for the first time for their League Cup defeat away to Shrewsbury Town in August. In November, he played for Conference Premier club Eastbourne Borough on a three-month loan. He made 5 appearances in the first month, including in the FA Trophy against Boreham Wood, before being recalled by Charlton. He went straight into the starting eleven at right-back role with Brentford and played the whole match as Brentford won the penalty shoot-out after a goalless draw.

Arsenal

Jenkinson started playing for Arsenal in June 2011, for an undisclosed fee.

Jenkinson made his debut on 16 August 2011 in the UEFA Champions League final qualifying round against Udinese as a second-half substitute. On 20 August 2011, Jenkinson made his debut in Premier League against Liverpool. He was again named for the second leg against Udinese and Manchester United at Old Trafford, despite being sent off after a foul on Javier Hernández. He still made a chance for Robin van Persie to score a second goal for Arsenal in the 8–2 loss to Manchester United. Jenkinson continued to extend starting lineup of Arsenal with an impressive run of form against West Bromwich.

West Ham United loans

Carl Jenkinson joined fellow London-based top-flight club West Ham United for a season-long loan deal on 31 July 2014. He suffered a pre-season hamstring injury in August in the Schalke 04 Cup. He did not make his debut for West Ham until 15 September, in a match against Hull City. Jenkinson quickly established himself as the team's first-choice right-back with his consistent displays and good form.

After signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal in July 2015, Carl Jenkinson Arsenal player rejoined West Ham United on loan for a second season. In August, he played in goal for the home defeat to Leicester City when Adrián had been sent off with no substitutions remaining. A week later, Jenkinson was sent off for a foul on Max Gradel in a home defeat to AFC Bournemouth. 

He scored the first West Ham goal on 3 October in an away draw against Sunderland. With West Ham losing in first-half added time, he scored from Victor Moses' cross. Jenkinson suffered a knee injury on 23 January 2016, after clashing with Sergio Agüero in a home draw against Manchester City. It was confirmed as an ACL injury, and the English and Finnish football player returned to Arsenal for rehabilitation.

Nottingham Forest

Jenkinson started to play for Championship club Nottingham Forest with a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

He had made just 15 appearances since playing as a Forest player in 2019, spending most of his time at the club on the bench or in the treatment room.

Then he was loaned out to another Aussie outfit in Melbourne City last season where he featured more regularly playing 28 times, and scoring 3 goals.

Jenkinson made his first appearance at A-League as a substitute against Central Coast Mariners. He scored the first goal for the club less than 20 minutes after replacing Kerrin Stokes.

Jenkinson made another goal again on 18 February in a match against Newcastle. He played in all of the remaining fixtures.

Melbourne City crashed out of the 2022 AFC Champions League despite being undefeated within the group stage. He scored one goal in 6 matches, against Jeonnam Dragons.

Newcastle Jets

In August 2022, Jenkinson signed a two-year contract for A-League side Newcastle Jets.
